You now have access to a powerful, intuitive tool that will help you and your clients quickly understand the market statistics in your area: MarketViewer.
It’s a real estate market analytics portal brought to you through a partnership between the Texas REALTORS® and MLSs across the state. Through MarketViewer, you have instant access to market stats across thousands of geographies in Texas.
Dashboard
Your Dashboard offers key statistics presented in a clean, easy-to-understand format. You decide the geographic boundaries and time period, and MarketViewer does the rest.
Market Reports
For those who love a deep dive, Market Reports offer data used to create the reports found on the rest of MartketViewer.
Infographic Generator
As the name implies, you input parameters and the Infographics Generator provides infographics for your presentations, emails, or social media posts.
Apartments Stats
Check out apartment rent and vacancy information from Reis, Inc. for 26 key market areas around the state.
New Construction
Explore county-level new construction statistics made available through Metrostudy, such as monthly new construction deed transfers, quarterly statistics on numbers of units under construction and those that are finished but vacant, and price per square foot data.
Mortgage Rates
View historical mortgage rate data from Freddie Mac.
Make sure and hover over all of the data points in all the sections of MarketViewer to reveal greater detail and trending information. Data for MarketViewer is released first to local associations in Texas and, 30 days later, is made available to all Texas REALTORS®.
Sorry, but I’m not a techie. How does one print this report in order to share it? I tried to right-click it, but that didn’t work. Even clicking the ‘menu’ tab doesn’t provide an option to print.
Bill – Thanks for your comment. We’re working on a print option for the Dashboard page on MarketViewer. You can go to the Menu and select Infographic Generator to access downloadable market statistic infographics.
Nice report but useless to everyone not in Abilene without being able to save my settings. What am I missing?
Thanks for your comment Patrick. Certainly understand the preference to be able to save settings to allow the tool to know which local association to default to. We’ll take a look into that for future enhancement.
Look at the bottom of the article under Access Market Viewer and click on one of those icons.
Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin or email.
Not useful unless you’re wanting to see state-wide statistics. When entering my city, then city/market area, most of the data is not displayed. I tried using on an iMac with Safari and Firefox with the same results.
Is this beta?
Enjoyed visiting with you Rick and glad to get this clarified. Completing Step 3, Choose Market, displays all stats specific to the market selected. Thanks for the feedback.
Okay, was just on the phone with Mike Barnett, TAR COO, and he walked me through the process. As users we need to work our way down the left side questions selecting:
Step 1: Local Association
Step 2: The type of view, ie, city/market
Step 3: Choose market (this step just shows “Texas” until steps 1 and 2 are selected)
Once Mike led me through this, the correct data filled the screen. So, useful tool. Mike mentioned his engineer was with him and would / might add something to the interface to make it clearer.
Suggested change: Once doing the three steps, when we select the time frame to display (month/quarter/year) , please keep the info filled in for the three steps. Now the system reverts the steps as Abiline, State. Texas.
Also, I do not think the the MOI calculation agrees with the calculation at the Real Estate Center. MarketViewer shows El Paso at 4.8 for February and REC shows 5.2 for the same month.
Rick – 5.2 months on the Real Estate Center is for the El Paso MSA. The 4.8 months is for the City of El Paso, both on the Center’s site and MarketViewer as well.
Thank you. Tested, and works fine.
Thanks for the suggestion on storing selections when toggling between time monthly, quarterly and annual dashboards. We’ll be working to see if the software can accomplish this.
Looks good, just wish we could already have last month data instead of 2 months prior. We’re in April so when will March data be available? More up to date data will be so powerful.
This is great information but I don’t see Highland Village listed. Why is that?
