Why your e-signatures are stamped with the wrong time

Having the time zone on your e-signatures set wrong can cause confusion. For example, Digital Ink sets its default time zone to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), which is five hours ahead of Central Daylight Time and six hours ahead of Central Standard Time. So, if a seller signs at 8 p.m. CDT on May 17, Digital Ink will record that signature on the following day, 1 a.m. GMT on May 18.

Save yourself the trouble of doing math with your e-signature times by setting your account to your local time zone. Both DocuSign and Digital Ink allow you to change the default time zone in your profile settings.
